16 year old American midfielder, Omar Castro, just returned from a 2 week trial with Dutch Eredivisie club Vitesse. Castro, who has been involved with USA National Youth National Team programs in the past, currently plays with his hometown's club Plant City FC. Castro arrived at Vitesse's U-19's team during the duration of his stay.
"I cannot thank Extratime enough for the opportunity they given me to pursue my dream to play professionally in Europe. The time spent at Vitesse was invaluable in my development to reach that goal. Training daily in a high level environment with top notch facilities, older high level players, and quality coaches was challenging, but it was an environment I could see myself playing in. Overall a very regarding experience and I look forward to going back, hopefully for a longer period time."
Ivan Modia, Head of Technical Affairs of ExtraTime, believes Castro is "one for the future. He's a really talented and technical player."
"We thought Holland would fit to his football style after being highly recommended by Greg Petersen, out technical advisor in USA. And he wasn't wrong. ExtraTime's analyst and FIFA-licensed agent Manel Lozano was with Omar during his Dutch experience and his reports were also positive. It's a good start for the player and we are fully satisfied with the experience", concluded Modia.
